Peak

Peak Fall season colors have finally hit the Cleveland area and we got out for a hike to take in these delightful sights. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park was set to be swamped because of this so we decided to take in another location not far away from the National Park called Richfield Heritage Preserve. This is the place that was once home to James Blaine Kirby. If Kirby sounds familiar to you it’s because of his invention of the vacuum cleaner of the same name. He also invented the “wringerless washing machine” and had 160 patents to his credit. Kirby vacuums are still made to this day. After he passed away in 1971 he left his property to Richfield which continues to restore and improve the beautiful rolling hills property. There are many trails through the property and much less crowded than CVNP. We did take a short drive through CVNP to just take a peek at the crowds around the park and it was certainly full of cars. What a beautiful day.
