Never had I imagined that I would ever be a dad, but thankfully I did become one. I became one this day EIGHTEEN years ago when my wife gave birth to a little peanut. A feisty, stubborn and an all around determined to carve their own path of a human. I beam with pride day in and day out. From being a prolific swimmer that we could never keep out of the water to a talented artist with the paints to now being a captain on your rowing team, you have always displayed a determination of being yourself. This daughter of mine turning EIGHTEEN has shown me so much and has certainly had me wrapped around her little fingers since that very first breath EIGHTEEN years ago. From the moment of giving you your first bath hours after your birth to being the sole person that could get you to sleep at night you have tamed a stubborn man into being a proud father that has enjoyed seeing your growth as a human and now an independent young woman. This independence is the thing I have always strived for you and will always be your biggest advocate in this world. I love you from the moon and back and wish you nothing but the best on your next steps in life. Thank you my Magpie for making me a dad and welcome to EIGHTEEN! ❤️
(Yes, for her first birthday I created a poster of her weekly photo for the 51 weeks of her life.)
